Prodigy Policies

CODE OF CONDUCT

Attendance. We have an expectation that our players attend at least 80% of the practices to become familiar and friendly with each other and to develop fundamental field hockey skills and a proficient understanding of the game.

Preparedness. Players are expected to arrive to practice and to tournaments at the designated start time, prepared with all of their gear, and ready to play.

Mandatory Gear:

  • Athletic Shoes (Astro Turf Shoes or Crosstrainers)

  • Shin Guard

  • Mouth Guard

  • Field Hockey Stick

  • Prodigy Pinnie

Players who arrive to practice without athletic shoes, a mouthguard, or shin guards will not be permitted to participate for their own safety. We may be able to rustle up a loaner stick and pinnie if those items are forgotten.

Behavior. We require everyone at our practices and games to promote a safe and kind environment.

  • The atmosphere at practice is generally a friendly, social one.

  • Parents may choose to drop off their player; however, practice is not a playdate nor childcare.

  • Players are expected to participate fully during practice, following coaches' instructions in a respectful and responsible manner.

  • Players are not permitted to use their field hockey stick in any manner except as directed by their coaches - there is to be no playing or "messing around", e.g. play-sword-fighting, playing tag, swinging stick around, etc.

  • Players are expected to speak in a kind and encouraging manner. "Trash talk", teasing, name-calling, and foul language are not permitted.

  • Players are expected to be respectful to their coaches, referees/umpires, and each other.

If a player demonstrates an inability to meet these expectations, we reserve the right to withdraw the player from the Club.
