Aldana Semmartin
Aldana Semmartin is a 28-year-old field hockey coach, educator, and lifelong athlete whose journey in the sport began at just five years old in Buenos Aires, Argentina. What started as a childhood passion quickly became a defining force in her life shaping her character, values, and purpose.
At the age of 10, Aldana began competing at a high-performance level with Club Arquitectura, where she played in multiple leagues, including Argentina’s highly competitive Primera A. Her dedication and talent led her to continue her playing career at Club Hacoaj, where she competed for three years before moving to the United States to pursue higher education.
Throughout her career, Aldana trained under some of the most respected figures in Argentine field hockey, participated in elite training camps, and competed internationally, including matches against the Chinese National Team. These experiences not only elevated her as an athlete but also deepened her understanding of the sport at its highest level.
At just 14 years old, Aldana discovered another calling: coaching. She spent six years coaching young girls of various ages, developing not only their technical skills, but also their confidence, discipline, and love for the game. Coaching became a natural extension of her passion for field hockey and her desire to give back to the sport that gave her so much.
Beyond the field, Aldana brings a unique and powerful background. She holds a degree in Public Relations, an MBA, and has professional experience in administration, social media, technology, design, and communication. She is also a certified K–12 Spanish teacher in the state of Florida, allowing her to connect deeply with diverse communities through both education and sport.
Field hockey, for Aldana, is more than a game. It is a school of life. It taught her perseverance, consistency, hard work, friendship, and what it truly means to give everything for the team and the jersey you wear. These lessons are the foundation of her coaching philosophy.
Aldana is married to Dylan Clarke, a wrestling coach, and comes from a family where sport is a shared language. Her sister, Dara Semmartin, currently plays Division I field hockey at Liberty University and is an All-American athlete and Big East Champion further reflecting the family’s deep-rooted commitment to excellence and athletics.
Today, Aldana’s mission is clear: to use field hockey as a tool to inspire, educate, and empower. Through the sport, she aims to instill values of perseverance, consistency, discipline, humility, teamwork, and most importantly, joy. Her goal is to create an environment where athletes grow not only as players, but as confident, resilient, and grounded individuals on and off the field.
